  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 45 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Juice of 1 lemon (about 2 tbsp)
  • 1 tsp lemon zest

Pantry Staples You’ll Need

  • Olive oil
  • Sea salt
  • Spaghetti or angel hair pasta (optional)

Instructions

  • Pat shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil until shimmering.
  • Lay shrimp in a single layer and cook 1.5–2 minutes per side; remove from pan.
  • Lower the heat to medium, and melt butter in the same skillet.
  • Add garlic and optional red pepper flakes; cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour in lemon juice and chicken broth; let simmer 2–3 minutes.
  • Stir in lemon zest and chopped parsley.
  • Return shrimp to pan, toss in sauce for 1 minute.
  • Serve immediately over pasta, with bread, or vegetables.

Notes

Avoid overcooking shrimp; they should be opaque and pink, curled into a loose “C.” Don’t crowd the pan and pat shrimp dry before cooking for best texture. This dish is best fresh; reheating can make shrimp rubbery.
